Create A Photo-Scrapbook

An ordinary photo-album can be transferred into your own life's journal pages by spending some time to transform it into a visual storyboard. By adding comments under the pictures and revealing hidden memories and emotions, the creation of a scrapbook can be a wonderful experience that you will make you smile when recalling your past adventures. Most importantly, creating your scrapbook from scratch and using your personal touch to turn your photo-album into something very special, can be a unique experience in itself. Journaling a photo-album and creating a scrapbook makes one think of the most essential elements of someone's life stories.

With numerous supplies available on the market, creating your own scrapbook does not need much more than your own story's version memories. Personalizing a photo-album according to your imagination is as easy as 1-2-3. First, all you need to do is to buy or collect the materials you will need to finish your project. An empty album, some glue, a pair of scissors, and of course your collection of photographs, stickers, tickets and newspaper clippings. You can also select to use any type of fabric, ribbon, or bits of leftovers from other projects, which can be used to embellish your personal journaling photo-scrapbook. Some more professional tools, like an exacto knife's versatile blade, will allow you to accomplish a professionally perfect outcome. In addition, a pair of tweezers can assist you picking up and placing smaller photographs and objects into exact positions before you glue them on the scrapbook pages without getting glue all over your fingers. Even the glue you will select to affix your choice of photographs, phrases and quotes on the pages should be carefully selected. Some of the glues sold dry rather quickly and are less messy. Options include glue dots, two-sided tape, Xyron, acid free photo tabs and polypropylene corners. Finally, keep in mind that if you purchase an acid- and lignin-free album you will increase your scrapbook's duration preserving your paper treasures intact for years.

If you are creating your album on your own, you need to finish it and have it ready as an empty book before you will be able to add your choice of content. Think first of the people who will read your creation. In case they were not participants of the activity you wish to describe, it is better to assist your readers by providing them with as many details as possible, so they can relive your memories and stories. Using the five 'W's' is the best method in this case. Name the people appearing in each photo and state the purpose of the photograph. By describing what was happening you assist the reader understand the situation you experienced and become part of the storytelling idea. Mentioning where the event took place and when the photograph was taken is also important. Finally, consider stating why you decided to use this particular photograph. Explaining what makes it so important to you will assist the viewer's reasoning too.
